Borrowing Materials

A Jackson County Public Library cardholder may borrow books, audiobooks, and DVDs from any of the Panhandle Public Library Cooperative System (PPLCS) Libraries in Jackson, Calhoun, and Holmes Counties. Items may also be returned to any of the PPLCS Libraries.
Borrowing Materials
Each person must have a Library Card to check out Library materials.

 

Patrons may check out 25 items at any given time at the Jackson County public Library with some limitations. There is a limit of 5 DVD's per household or 5 CD audiobooks at one time.
 

Patrons may check out most Library materials for a period of 21 days. New Books can be checked out for a period of 14 days. DVD's can be checked out for 7 days.

  Patrons may renew items twice. This may be accomplished by phone, in person at the Circulation Desk, or online. Items cannot be renewed if they are on reserve for other patrons.
  Patrons may reserve an item that is not on the shelf or that has a waiting list by placing a request at the Circulation Desk or online. Patrons may also request items from any of the other libraries in Calhoun, Holmes, or Whashington Counties in the same manner.
  All items must be returned on or before the due date. Failure to do so will result in fines and suspension of library privileges.
  Fees will be charged on late, lost or damaged library materials.
  Book drops are a convenience offered to patrons for drop-off of books only. Other items may be damaged if dropped in a book drop and patrons are required to return non-book items inside each Library location.
