How do I get a Library card?
    To get a library card, you will need to come to the library and fill out an application. You will be asked to show us your picture ID or other proof of your residence in Jackson County.

Does it cost anything to get a library card?

    If you never had a library card with us before, it is free to get one. If you have had one before and have lost it, the cost is $1

How many items can I check out at one time?

    You can check out up to 25 items at one time. However, you can olny check out 5 books by one author, 5 books on one subject, 5 DVDs, 5 audiobooks, and 3 new items at one time.

How long can I keep the Items I check Out?

    Books and audiobooks are checked out for 3 weeks, DVDs are checked out for 1 week, and new items are checked out for 2 weeks.

How do I renew my library items?

    You may renew your items over the phone. When you call the library, you will be asked for your library card number, so have your library card handy. You may also renew your items online through our catalog as long as they are not overdue. To renew online, go to our website and click on Library Catalog on the left-hand menu. You can then log into your account with your library card number and PIN (last four NUMBERS of your library card number).

How can I place a hold for an item that is currently unavailable?

    To place ahold online, go to our library catalog and log into your account. Search forthe item you are interested in and click on it. Next, click on "Place hold" on the right-hand side. Confirm your hold information and click on "Place hold". We will give you a call when the item is available. You can also place a hold on an item while you are in the library. Simply let a staff member know what item you are interested in, and we will place it on hold for you.

How do I access the library's catalog?

    To access our catalog, go to our website (jcplfl.org) and click on "Library Catalog" on the left-hand menu.

Does the library have computers that the public can use?

    Yes, we have 15 computers in the library available for public use. We also have several laptops available for use within the library.

How much does it cost to print?

    Black and white prints cost 10 cents per page. Color printing is not available.
